Final Thoughts: This show was definitely one of the worst PPVs for WWE in 2009. The show opened with the ECW Title Scramble Match which, though it went nearly 15 minutes, was a fun match and kept you on your toes with all the title changes. MOTN by far was Jericho/Rey for the IC Title. IMO, this was their best match in their feud and quite possibly the best match they’ve had ever. It was smart to put then the newly packaged Dolph Ziggler on the card to get him over, but I think putting him in a program and match with Khali was a mistake. Kane came out and hit Khali with a chair, prompting Dolph to pick up the win. After getting an earful from Edge & Jericho backstage and his probation contuing from Mr. McMahon, Teddy Long threw in Rated Y2J into the Tag Title match and they became the new champs. Would’ve loved to see the tag team last longer, but Edge would suffer a serious injury at a house show and Rated Y2J was no more. Michelle McCool became the first Diva to win both the Womens and Divas Championship after defeating Melina in one of the better Divas matches of the year. Punk/Hardy was a huge disappointment and the finish was just God awful where Punk faked an eye injury and kicked the ref to get DQ’d. A DQ finish for a World Title match is a huge no-no and killed the crowd. One of the biggest disappointments of the year was Cena/Miz. After a ton of Miz segments and finally Cena addressing Miz, people were dying to see this match. But WWE gives them 5 and a half minutes where Cena makes Miz look HORRIBLE. Dumb booking and an okay match. The main event between HHH/Orton in a 3 Stages of Hell match for the belt was very good. I think this match would’ve been more exciting if there weren’t so many HHH/Orton matches on previous PPVs. Legacy helped Orton win the match but HHH got the last laugh after hitting Orton with a sledgehammer. This show was had really bad booking for the most part and disappointing matches. Mediocre PPV from WWE.
